The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi, is now accepting online applications for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) 2024. This exam is for candidates aspiring to become teachers for primary classes (1 to 5) and upper primary classes (6 to 8). Eligible and interested candidates can submit their applications online at the JAC official website: jac.jharkhand.gov.in/jac.

Eligibility Criteria : Jharkhand TET 2024
Primary School (Class 1 to 5):
- According to Rule 6(g)(i) of Chapter 2 of the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test Rules, 2019, the requirement for “or a minimum of 50% marks in graduation along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)” for primary school (Class 1-5) educational and training qualifications has been removed.
Upper Primary School (Class 6 to 8):
Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (regardless of the name it is known by) OR
Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) [if enrolled in the training session after May 31, 2009] OR
Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) [if enrolled in the training session after May 31, 2009] OR
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (B.L.Ed.) OR
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.A./B.Sc. Ed.) or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed. OR
Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a one-year Bachelor of Education (Special Education).

Structure : Jharkhand TET 2024
Examination Levels:
- Primary School Level: For Class 1 to 5 (Level-1)
- Upper Primary School Level: For Class 6 to 8 (Level-2)
- Candidates may choose to appear for either or both levels of the examination.
Examination Duration:
- Primary School Level (Class 1 to 5): 2 Hours 30 Minutes
- Upper Primary School Level (Class 6 to 8): 2 Hours 30 Minutes
- For Visually Impaired Candidates: An additional 30 minutes.
Question Paper Content for Primary School Level:
- Based on the Class 11 and 12 syllabus approved by NCERT/CBSE and State Government.
- Difficulty level will be aligned with 10+2/Higher Secondary or equivalent.
Question Paper Content for Upper Primary School Level:
- Based on the graduation syllabus of a ‘State University’ recognized by the University Grants Commission.
- Difficulty level will be aligned with graduation or equivalent.
