Eligibility Criteria :Jharkhand TET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Primary School (Class 1 to 5):
According to Chapter 2, Rule 6 (g) (i) of the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test Regulations, 2019, the educational qualifications for primary school (Classes 1-5) include:
- Graduation and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with at least 50% marks.
This provision excludes the requirement for a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or any equivalent qualification.
Upper Primary School (Class 6 to 8):
For teaching positions in upper primary school (Classes 6-8), the acceptable qualifications are:
- Graduation (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Elementary Education, enrolled after May 31, 2009, in the relevant training session.
OR
- Graduation (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Elementary Education enrolled after May 31, 2009, in the relevant training session.
OR
- Graduation (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) / Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with B.Ed. (BA, B.Ed. / B.Sc., Ed.).
OR
- Graduation (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Special Education, along with a graduation (or its equivalent).

Jharkhand TET 2024 Test Structure
Two Levels of Eligibility Test:
- The Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will comprise two levels: Level-1 for primary school (Class 1 to 5) and Level-2 for upper primary school (Class 6 to 8). Candidates have the option to appear for both levels of examination.
Exam Duration:
- Each level of the examination will have a consolidated question paper with a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
- Visually impaired candidates will be provided an additional 30 minutes.
Primary School Level (Class 1 to 5):
- The questions in Level-1 of the TET will be based on the syllabus of Class 11 and 12, approved by NCERT/CBSE and the State Government.
- The difficulty level of these questions will be up to 10+2/Higher Secondary or equivalent.
Upper Primary School Level (Class 6 to 8):
- Level-2 of the TET will feature questions aligned with the graduation syllabus of State Universities recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
- The difficulty level of these questions will be equivalent to graduation or its equivalent.
