Educational Qualification Requirements:
Medical Qualification: Applicants must hold a medical qualification recognized under the National Medical Commission Act 2019.
Registration: Applicants should possess permanent registration with any State Medical Council, Medical Council of India (MCI), or National Medical Commission (NMC).
Postgraduate Degree: Holders of postgraduate degrees recognized by the State Medical Council, National Board of Examinations (NBE), or National Medical Commission (NMC) are also eligible to apply.

Salary/ Emoluments for AFMS SSC Medical Officer
Benefits of Commissioning in Armed Forces Medical Services:
Rank and Pay: Doctors commissioned receive the rank of Captain (or equivalent in Navy/Air Force) in the 10B level of Defence Pay Matrix, starting at Basic Pay Rs. 61,300 along with Military Service Pay (MSP) Rs. 15,500. Housing Rent Allowance (HRA) is provided based on the city category (X, Y, Z).
Additional Allowances: Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) is provided at prevailing rates, and Transport Allowance ranges from Rs. 3,600 to Rs. 7,200 depending on the city category. An annual Dress Allowance of Rs. 20,000 is also granted.
Dearness Allowance: Provided as per prevailing rates.
Facilities: Officers receive ration or ration allowance based on posting location and applicable notifications. Subsidized accommodation and allied facilities are also provided.
Specialist Allowance: Postgraduate degree holders are eligible for Postgraduate (PG) allowance or specialist pay upon designation as graded specialists as per applicable Training Rules.
Leave and Travel: Entitlement includes 60 days of Annual Leave, 20 days of Casual Leave per year, and Leave Travel Concession (LTC).
Medical Services: Free medical services are extended to officers, their families, and dependent parents.
Insurance and Shopping: Group Insurance coverage and access to Canteen Stores Depot (CSD) facilities are also available.
