  • Educational Requirements:
    • Passed 10+2 with 50% marks each in Mathematics and Physics.
    • Graduation (minimum 3-year degree) in any discipline with 60% marks or equivalent.
    • OR BE/B.Tech (4-year course) with 60% marks or equivalent.
    • OR Cleared Section A & B of the Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with 60% marks or equivalent.

Selection Process of AFCAT Entry 2025

For AFCAT entry, IAF shall prepare a list of candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the Online AFCAT as fixed by the IAF. Candidates declared successful in the Online AFCAT will be called to one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSB):

  • Dehradun (1 AFSB)
  • Mysuru (2 AFSB)
  • Gandhinagar (3 AFSB)
  • Varanasi (4 AFSB)
  • Guwahati (5 AFSB)

Candidates opting for the flying branch can only choose Dehradun, Mysuru, or Varanasi. Qualified candidates are required to select the AFSB date and venue through the official website to generate their call-up letter.

AFCAT 2025 Physical Standard Test

Height, Sitting Height, Leg Length, and Thigh Length

  • Flying Branch: Minimum height: 162.5 cm
  • Sitting height: 81.5 - 96.0 cm
  • Leg Length: 99.0 - 120.0 cm
  • Thigh Length: Maximum 64.0 cm
  • Ground Duty: Minimum height: 157.5 cm
  • For Gorkhas and candidates from the North-Eastern regions and Uttarakhand, minimum height: 152.5 cm
  • For Lakshadweep candidates: 155.5 cm

Physical Standards (For Females)

  • Flying Branch: Minimum height: 162.5 cm
  • Other Branches: Minimum height: 152 cm
  • For North-Eastern regions and Uttarakhand: Minimum height: 147 cm
  • For Lakshadweep: Minimum height: 150 cm

AFCAT Physical Fitness Test 2025

Candidates should aim to achieve the following to prepare for SSB tests:

  • Run 1 mile (1.6 km) in 10 minutes
  • 10 push-ups
  • 3 chin-ups

AFCAT Salary, Pay, and Allowances 2025

Pay: As per 7th CPC

Rank Pay as per Defence Matrix Level MSP
Flying Officer Rs. 56100 - 177500 10 Rs. 15500

Flight Cadets receive a stipend of Rs. 56,100 per month during training.

Allowances: Flying, Transport, Technical, Field Area, Special Compensatory, etc., based on duty/posting.

Insurance: Rs. 1.10 crore insurance cover, with an additional Rs. 15 lakh for Flying Branch Officers.
